Kong Jiun Yuan, Melvin read law at Multimedia University (MMU) and graduated with a LL.B (Honours) degree in 2013. He commenced pupillage at Messrs Velupilai & Associates under the tutelage of Ms. Vijayalatha P. Velupillai. He was then admitted as an Advocate & Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya on 24.7.2014. He then joined Messrs T.G.Koh & Song in Melaka and handled accident matters, representing the claimants.

In 2015, he commenced his 2nd year practice at Messrs Sa’adiah, Khoo & Lo and took charge of matters relating to banking litigation, debts recovery and execution work. Following a year, he then joined Messrs Mark Law Chambers and managed several portfolios i.e. accident, civil and corporate matters. In 2017, he worked as an in house counsel for a company Virtue Resources JSC in Vietnam.

In 2018, Melvin joined Messrs M. Ravendran & Associates and handled motor vehicle accident claims, i.e acting for insurance companies such as The Pacific Insurance Berhad, Pacific & Orient Insurance Co. Berhad, Tune Protect Group Berhad, Tokio Marine Insurans (Malaysia) Berhad and Generali Insurance Malaysia Berhad (formerly known as AXA Affin General Insurance Berhad. Thereafter, he joined Ng Kian Nam & Partners in 2023 as senior Legal Assistant.

His areas of practice include civil litigation, running down matters, family disputes.
