Mehgalaa Rajendran graduated with a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) from Queen’s University Belfast in 2022 and subsequently completed the Bar Training Course at Northumbria University in 2024. She was thereafter called to the Bar of England and Wales and admitted as a member of the Honourable Society of Gray’s Inn.
During her pupillage at MahWengKwai & Associates, Mehgalaa gained extensive exposure to both civil and criminal litigation. She was actively involved in contested and uncontested probate matters, medical negligence claims, commercial disputes, white-collar criminal defence, and employment law matters at both the Subordinate Courts and the Appellate Courts.
Mehgalaa completed her pupillage in August 2024 and was admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in October 2024.
In 2025, Mehgalaa developed her practice in criminal litigation at Svetlana Nordin & Co., where she handled both trial and appellate matters. She has represented clients in a wide spectrum of criminal cases, including rape, incest, robbery, habeas corpus applications, road traffic offences, cheating, and offences under the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952, including possession and trafficking, as well as serious offences such as murder. Throughout her practice, Mehgalaa has successfully secured acquittals and favourable outcomes for clients at both the lower court and appellate levels.
Passionate about the criminal justice system, Mehgalaa is committed to fairness, diligence, and meaningful representation. She continues to build a strong practice in both criminal and civil litigation after joining Ng Kian Nam & Partners in 2026.
